[A sudden gasp and again, barely suppressed retching.] I hate this place.

I'll ask Watari. [He reached over, hand brushing Hisoka's forehead lightly. A bit chilled. Not feverish, though. So that was okay....]

[Standing up again, he headed over for their stash of cooking things. There was the garbage basket, and it was empty... that'd have to do. He picked it up and brought it back over to Hisoka, setting it down nearby.] Here you go, if you need it.

Just a day for the sickness - so it'll be done by tomorrow. Then your powers will probably be wild for about three days, but after that it'll be fine.

Most of the things that have happened when people's powers went rogue lasted - well, half a week or so, usually. I'm not sure all of ...that... was Muraki's powers going wild.

That wouldn't explain why he backed it off later. I'm not saying he usually makes sense, but even for him... there's no logic there.

[Hisoka took several deep breaths, then swallowed, not looking at Tsuzuki.] ...Tsuzuki, what exactly did Joshua do to Muraki?

I... don't know exactly what he did. Something to his mind.... I think he reminded him of something in his past.

Whatever it was, it was bad. I don't think I've ever seen Muraki afraid before.

[Not even when he'd been dying on the floor. Tsuzuki flinched away from that memory.] He threatened to do it again if Muraki... did anything else.

[Hisoka sighed. He'd work out how he felt about all this when he wasn't still feeling nauseous.]

That matches up with Joshua's story. Though he didn't mention that last bit.

...He wouldn't. I think he likes making himself sound worse than he is, or something like that. [He shrugged; Joshua was kind of weird, but he wasn't about to complain about the man who'd saved him from Muraki.]

I don't think he'd like hearing you say that. [Even if it was true. Maybe. Joshua hadn't exactly been earning himself points lately, in Hisoka's book.]

Anyway, it explains why Muraki's been so quiet.

I prefer him that way... well, as long as he's not planning something. I don't think he is this time.

...Anyway, we'd better hope he's not planning anything. We can't make another deal with Joshua; we don't have anything else to give him. And he's the only one we know of powerful enough to intimidate Muraki.

He did say that he'd go after Muraki if Muraki did anything else... and I think most of the things Muraki would be planning count.

Nah. This wouldn't be goodwill - I mean, I don't really know Joshua that well, but do you think he'd let somebody get away with ignoring a threat he'd made?
