[07. anyone seen that short blond kid?]

...So we're heading into October. Is it just me, or was the last curse pretty topical? People turning into monsters; sounds like Halloween to me.

On the plus side, caramel apples and pumpkin-filled bread.

What happened last October? We're not heading for ghosts and witches or anything, I hope.

[locked to Tatsumi, Watari, Riko and Hisoka]

Have any of you seen Hisoka recently?

And do you know how to take care of a lionfish? I think that spiky thing it's doing with its fins means that it's hungry.

Holy crap, you're dangerous.

But summon GODS? What the heck are those? And possibly you can't contact them because they aren't here? If we can't get out, makes sense other things can't get in.

...you're still dangerous. Maybe more so if you can't control power like that.

Summon gods... shikigami. Powerful beings that make contracts with people to serve them. And yeah, my guess is that the barrier keeps them out.

Save it, I've heard the same thing MORE than enough times from the departmental accountant. And I give orders, but they have their own will!

Why would an insanely powerful being make that sort of contract?

I said it anyway.

They have various trials to make sure they get a worthy master. It can be anything from rock-paper-scissors for a weak one, to full-out magical combat for a powerful one that doesn't want a master.

Ok.... But why would they do that? Why share their power with you?

[identity profile] cinnagami.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
It's kind of hard to answer that overall! Partly, it's a traditional thing. Some of them do it for the extra power, some of them do it for personal reasons, some for political reasons... Sohryuu I had to defeat in combat and now he's honor-bound to serve me.

What kind of tradition is that? At least the honor-bound thing makes sense to me.

Haha, well. I never asked about the history in detail, so I couldn't say!
